As the new spring season approaches, one of the biggest trends in the fashion world right now is statement earrings. From social media-famous fashion bloggers to the celebrity elite, a bold, beautiful earring is now more important than the latest designer handbag.

Whether you prefer shoulder-skimming sparkly earrings, reminiscent of the 70’s, street style gold hoops or even temporary-chic, clip on earrings for extra coverage and impact, earrings for women are the staple of your spring wardrobe for 2018.

At the spring/summer ’18 fashion shows, Chanel had a huge moment for earrings. Verging on fashion jewellery, the show involved pops of bright cobalt, clear Perspex droplets with exaggerated branding and show-stopping diamond earrings with the iconic double C.

Featured elsewhere on the runways were huge, oversized jewelled earrings by Balenciaga in emerald, deep sultry ruby and stunning hessonite, almost scraping the tops of model’s shoulders. Alexander McQueen styled models with imbalanced looks, featuring one side of lavish, jewel-encrusted earrings and one side with stud earrings and cuffs. Stella McCartney revealed bold, linear designs in sterling silver with deep, royal blue accents. Mentioning only a few, the earrings for fashion week certainly stole the shows.
