Don’t you just love this time of year? The nights are drawing in. People are beginning to think of the coming Christmas season. The shops are gearing up for their festive windows and, after the pastels and pale colours of summer, we are thrown again into a rich riot of bold, bright and arresting colours.
And nothing says bold and arresting more than red.
Our poppy brooch and earring display in our window always draws attention this time of year. And we are proud to stock the Lila range, which gives a 10% donation from products sold to SSAFA and Combat Stress. They have raised over £225,000 so far and continue to expand their range. Particular favourites with our customers this year have been the delicate Poppy Garland range of stud earrings and necklace. Great for any age and occasion.
Alongside our brooches, our range of poppy themed scarves are very popular and not just for around remembrance time. They add a great pop of colour on darker coats and jumpers.
Then there’s our hand crafted hanging bird feeders made from blown glass. They add a real pop of colour to the garden, particularly when the trees are bare and everything else has died back. There’s nothing quite like looking out of your window to see the smaller birds feeding – particularly if there is a Robin amongst them.
And if you haven’t got a robin in your garden, we are about to take delivery of our range of blown glass robins, handcrafted in Devon. We sold out of them quickly last year!
Festive gifts are also beginning to making an appearance. We love our new range of Robin mugs with coasters – they have a real vintage feel about them. And Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without some quirky friends…
