How a pearl is formed.
Natural pearls are formed when an irritant usually a parasite-works its way into an oyster, mussel or clam, as a defense mechanism a fluid is used to coat the irritant. Layer upon layer of this coating, called “nacre” is deposited until a lustrous pearl is formed.

How to wear pearls.
The more you wear your pearls the better the lustre is maintained.
Pearls should be the last thing you put on when dressing, and the first thing you remove when undressing.
Keep perfume, body lotions and other beauty products away from your pearl jewellery and they will last a life time and beyond.
